Chapbook: Jack of All Trades.
Longtime Hoboken resident Ray Quinones is a regular jack-of-all-trades; if he’s not fixing something at Antique Bar & Bakery he’s teaming up with Sacci Management’s construction crew as they tackle Hoboken’s infinite punch list.
Ray speaks glowingly of Hoboken’s old days, missing the handball courts on Jackson and 5th and the “Sand Park” on Madison with its giant tire swings but he loves today’s “atmosphere” and the way Hoboken “lights up” in the glow of the big city.
Ray was once a promising boxer set to go pro with a record of 25 wins and four losses but a wrong choice and twist of fate sent him away and changed that path. It has been a hard road, but through faith and fatherhood Ray’s found his way back to the town he loves. When asked about the motto he lives by Ray said, “It’s all about my kids.”
One of Ray’s favorite activities is flying pigeons with long time Pigeon pro Vinnie Torre who once told Ray when they started “…if you’re flyin’ pigeons be prepared spend a lot of time looking up at the sky” Ray’s been hooked ever since…
Love is more thicker than forget by Edward Estlin (E E) Cummings
Love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail
It’s most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea
Love is more always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less litter than forgive
It’s most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky
